The
gift of Christmas to the Palestinian Children…
Millions
and millions of children in the Universe are spending a pretty and joyful
Christmas time…
But
the Palestinians do not…
Whilst
the children of the World sleep in the hope that the gift of Santa will be
awaiting them the next morning near their beds, our children sleep with the only
hope that the sun of each tomorrow will rise while they are still alive…
In
the time when many children of the Global have peaceful dreams of Santa’s
sleigh carrying gifts, sweets and toys, Our children have nightmares of machine
guns that are mounted on the Israeli tanks…
Whilst
so many merciful persons remember to send special gifts to many needy children
in this World, our neighbors, the Israelis, did not forget to send our children
a very special and unforgettable gift at Christmas, a special gift that is
consisted of bullets, missiles, and bombs… a gift to our children whose sense
of security has been unsettled by the night attacks…
- Children
love Christmas and every thing that goes with it …
- But
here, in our Land, what goes with Christmas this year is the feelings of
horror, fear, anxiety, stress, and insecurity…
- At
this Christmas time, the green Christmas tree hang heavy with shining lights
while people enjoy watching them shining with joy…
- As
for us, we can only enjoy the glow of tracer bullets in the black skies as
they flew across the valleys…
- Children
of the Global enjoy listening to the sounds of Christmas bells that are
ringing everywhere in the towns…and the children of Palestine can only
listen to the sound of gunshots that echoes overnights…
- Children
around the World gather together with their families across the table
enjoying a special Christmas meal… But most of our children still go to
sleep hungry…
- That’s
how we are celebrating
Christmas this year…
- We’re
celebrating it in a completely different manner…
- Nevertheless,
we are still holding in our hearts a hope…
- A
real hope that the message of the lord
- “Peace
on earth &
Goodwill towards Humankind …”
- Will realize in our
land & in the whole World…
- This
holy message of Christmas has become our dream
- Which
we hope it will, one day, come true…
- Christmas
is such a special time of the year…&
- It
merely comes once a year…
- This
year, it is a completely different Christmas.
